The Low Pay Commission is Great Britain's official advisory group for the national minimum wage, in place since 1999.  In addition to information on the regular increases in the wage and on Britain's youth wages, the site includes research studies on a wide range of minimum wage issues.

Minimum Wage Database

A global database maintained by the International Labour Office, based in Switzerland.  The search process takes getting used to but yields loads of information on the wage-setting procedures and other legalities, as well as minimum wage levels, for most countries.

Recent minimum wage changes and debates in Canada, where minimum wages are set by the individual provinces and most are in the $8.00 range. (The Canadian dollar currently equals about 98 American cents.)

A 2000 paper that explores the degree to which an increase in the adult minimum wage in a developing country will lead to an increase in child labor (as a result of greater employment or a rise in real wages) or to a decrease (as a result of unemployment).
